We have a demo version of Accelerated-X 1.2 available for Anon-FTP . This is subject to a license.
We have released the demonstration version of the Server so that people can assess and test
The Demonstration Server is exactly the same as the standard Accelerated-X Server, but is limited in the following ways:
See the product release notes for more detail.
Select your Intel UNIX Operating System from the list below:
There are separate Release Notes for BSD/OS, FreeBSD, Linux and NetBSD and for Interactive, SCO, Solaris and UnixWare.
The process is almost the same as for the standard product.
AcceleratedX/bin/Xinstall
.
Xsetup
.
You might want to run both your standard Server and Accelerated-X in comparison tests. You might want to run some applications, or a benchmark on both, for example.
When your graphical environment is started,
it runs the program X
as the standard X Server.
We backed up your standard X Server to an obvious name (X.OSNAME),
so all you have to do to switch Servers is:
Change directory to where you installed the Server and run the command:
# AcceleratedX/bin/Xuninstall
This process still leaves behind the configuration files:
We leave those behind, in case you are upgrading revs. They are pretty small, but if you want to completely expunge the product, delete those files too, and there should be nothing left.
